11:00 Nick Burton - Accessible Android
Talk: Nick will be giving a talk entitled 'Accessible Android' which will provide an overview of the Android mobile operating system, an insight into how open the platform is, and the benefits that accrue to developers as a result.
Speaker: Nick Burton is a Graduate Student in Computer Science at RMIT University and Convener of the Android Australia User Group, based in Melbourne. Working with mobile software developers, jTribe, Nick has built applications for companies including Dell and Zendesk and contributed to the Foursquare for Android open source project.
11:30 Andrew Thornton - How to be anonymous on the internet
Talk: This talk shows how to be anonymous on the internet. Andrew Thornton discusses why people should care about their internet privacy. He also discusses tools such as TOR and I2P.
Speaker: Andrew Thornton is a student of computer programming and graphics design. He has a passionate interest in anonymity technology.
12:00 Daniel Jitnah - Open source software for the home
Talk: This talk will look at some useful and diverse Open Source software applications for use at home. These packages only represent a small selection, to provide a taste of what can be achieved using Open Source. And best of all they are all Free as in Free Beer applications!!
Speaker: Daniel Jitnah is an independent software consultant and developer with over 10 yrs experience with Open Source and Linux. His main interest is in developing web based applications and supporting Linux and Open Source users. Being an ex-School Teacher and Trainer, the use of Open Source and Linux in Education is also an area of passionate interest to him. He is an active Member of LUV, and contributes to various mailing lists on related subjects. When he is not sitting in front of a computer, he may perhaps be seen running or jogging somewhere on a neighbourhood track, in the South Eastern suburb of Melbourne.
12:30 Tony Forster - Sugar: Editing is always on
Talk: The OLPC (One Laptop Per Child) program makes inexpensive educational laptops for the developing world. The operating system, Sugar, is free open source, in part to expose the inner workings and allow children to modify the system. Similarly, programs are free open source with easy access to the source.
Speaker: Tony Forster is an engineer and teacher. He believes that young children can and should program. He runs programming classes and contributes to Sugarlabs.
1:00 Alec Clews - How to backup your PC simply and easily
Talk: This short presentation looks at how you can backup your important (and not so important) data. It also describes how to restore your system after your disk fails. It will cover using DVD's, portable hard disk drives and online backup services such as DropBox.
Speaker: Alec Clews has been using computers since 1980 and Free Software since 1996. His day job is as an IT Consultant and both his children also use Linux and Open Source tools. He frequently presents on a variety of IT and business related topics; can be found online as Alec The Geek (alecthegeek); or at various Melbourne coffee shops drinking too much espresso.

2:00 Brian Gilbert - Drupal Basics (setting up a blog in minutes)
Talk: Drupal is a popular open source content management system (CMS) used for building websites. Brian will demonstrate how to set up a Drupal based blog, and show some of the available resources if you would like to get started using Drupal for your own website.
Speaker: Brian Gilbert as the Director of Realityloop provides Web Consulting and Development services specifically focused around Drupal, a Web Developer since 1995 and has been working exclusively with Drupal since 2006.
2:30 Richard Jones - PyWeek (Writing games in Python)
Talk: PyWeek is an annual challenge to write a game in Python from scratch, in a week. Entrants need not have ever programmed in Python or written a game before. The most recent PyWeek was held in August and winners were announced just last week. Come and find out just how realistic writing your own game in a week really is.
Speaker: Richard has over a decade's experience as a hobbiyst writing video games. He has entered many game programming challenges and created PyWeek which has run for the last four years.
3:00 Colin Jacobs - The Future of Internet Censorship
Talk: Internet censorship continues to be a hot topic in Australia and overseas. Australia's internet is already censored, with the the possibility of more on the way. How does Australia's situation compare to that in other countries, and how will this and other governments deal with the challenges thrown up by nasty internet content? Can the future possibly hold both an open internet and happy politicians?
Speaker: Colin Jacobs is a software professional and frequent commentator on internet issues in the Australian media. Colin's interests include censorship, copyright and consumer's rights. As chair of Internet civil liberties group Electronic Frontiers Australia, Colin has been heavily involved in the ongoing campaign to keep Australia's internet free of mandatory ISP censorship.

Talk: From coworking to NCN (Networks of Community Networks) - find out what Australia can potentially learn from how San Francisco is leveraging its municipal fibre network to promote radical digital inclusion.
